Graduate of the Conservatory of Lille, Artavazd Sargsyan is currently studying at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris with Daniel Ottevaere, and with the support of the SPEDIDAM.
On stage, he has performed the roles of Gérald in Lakmé by Delibes, Nadir in The Pearl Fishers by Bizet, Camille De Coutançon in The Merry Widow by Lehar, Grenicheux in Les cloches de Corneville by Planquette, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola by Rossini, Le Roi Ouf in L’Etoile by Chabrier, Vincent in Mireille by Gounod and Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte with the Orchestra of Massy, under the direction of D. Ruits. Member of the troupe (La Péniche Opera), he sang in L’ivrogne corrigé by Gluck with Barokopera Amsterdam.
During the summer of 2011, he was Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore at the opera festival of Belle Ile en Mer and the role of Arthur in Donizetti’s Lucie de Lammermoor at the festival of Morlaix.
Other rôles have included the Witch (Hänsel und Gretel) in Paris and Fontainebleau, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Henry in Richard Strauss’s Die schweigsame Frau. In 2014 he sang Belfiore (Il viaggio a Reims) at Wildbad.
He sings regularly under the direction of Jean-Claude Casadesus, Bruno Membrey, Philip Walsh and regularly sings religious works such as Mozart’s Requiem, Mass in C by Beethoven, Bach’s Magnificat, Schubert’s Stabat Mater…
He is a member of the Opera Studio of Opéra Bastille in Paris and appears as a soloist in oratorio.
